About Internal Monologue

I originally started this newsletter at the top of 2021, determined to use it to keep track of all the music I listened to, in neat playlists of about 25-30 songs each, perfectly sequenced, summarized, listed here, signed, sealed, delivered. And then, about a year into it, I got tired.

I stopped in February 2022, and told myself I would let the project sit until I was ready to go back to it, to face what it had become in a way that felt authentic. At that point, I was mainly using Put Me On for cover art on my DJ mixes, and I no longer saw how anything I wanted to write about could possibly fit into the same bucket as before.

Sure, I’ll still put you on - the latter half of this newsletter will most likely be recommendations anyway - books, films, albums, sounds, pieces, places, who even knows what else, that I’ve enjoyed.

But more importantly, the goal of this newsletter is to write, to think, and to share those thoughts. Internal Monologue is just that - a glimpse into the way I view the world, the positive messages I want to spread, and an invitation to simply…consider.

It’s a blog, yes, but it’s also a vessel through which I hope you’re able to understand the world through my eyes, and consider reflecting on it again through your own.

Why Subscribe?

Originally, this was a totally free newsletter. And that is still an option, though I’ve now become more protective of my writing, as it has always been not only my hobby but a true, deep-seated passion of mine, to the point where I can’t stop writing. That being said, if you’ve read far enough down to want an answer to the question of whether or not you should subscribe, then i think you you know the answer to that one. 💌
